Mr.Dakgalbi, Solaris Mont' Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

Another new Dakgalbi shop in town. Mr Dakgalbi just open it's first outlet in Solaris Mont Kiara. We came to know that when we received the flyer from the staff while looking for what to eat in Solaris MK. Husband and I were talking about Yooganae Dakgalbi that we have in Busan 2 weeks ago so when we saw their flyer the menu is similar, without second though we walk in and try!

There are 2 floors inside the Mr.Daklgalbi restaurant. Customer can choose to dine-in at outdoor too - especially for smokers and customer who dislike the odour that will leave on body & clothes after meal. We order the Dakgalbi for 2 servings - comes with 1 serving of sticky noodle, fried rice and cheese.

Similar to Yooganae, Mr.Dak also have this big round iron outer layer that can cover the grill-pan to prevent oil from spatter to us while cooking the Dakgalbi! However the smell of grilling won't go away after you have your meal. Still need to go home and wash from head to toe to remove the smell.

The Dakgalbi consists of chicken cuts, spicy red sauce, chopped cabbage, potato and onion slices, sticky rice cake and green onions slices. Besides this, they also served us a bowl of salads, cold bean sprout soup, kimchi and onions slices.

We were given one free sari (side dish) due to opening promotions, we choose the mozzarella cheese - to add in to Dakgalbi. As usual, the staff will do the stir-fry job and we just have to wait for Dakgalbi to be ready.

Tadaa! Yummy dakgalbi is ready! we love the chewy-chewy jjolmyeon alot! They also provides lettuces, garlic slice, chopped chilies and ssamjang too for those who love to eat with wraps.

After we finished 3/4 of the Dakgalbi, we ask the waiter to cook the fried rice. Husband like to left some dakgalbi behind to be cook with the fried rice. Waiter then heat up the pan first, push the leftover aside,  put in the rice top with red spicy sauce in the heated pan, fried until all mixed well. Pour in the grated mozzarella cheese in the end and mixed with well with the fried rice and it is done.

Look at the cheesy spide-web fried rice! Yummy!

Updated: Our second visit on 16th September 2014. We order the 2 serving as usual, price has increase a little but the portion shrink (especially chicken cuts) compare to before. The fish cake soup that they provided taste more like soya sauce soup, a bit disappointing as they are famous Dakgalbi shop with many outlets and this shouldn't happen. Anyhow the taste still maintain although the shop is running by mostly foreign workers.

Lastly, sharing with you the video of how the cheesy fried rice is cook by the waiter in Mr Dakgalbi.
