Thai Hou Sek | 泰好食, 1 Utama Shopping Centre
We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary with food as usual. This time we try the newly open Thai restaurant in Old Wing, 1 Utama. Husband is looking for Tomyam and wife is okay with anything as long as it is authentic Thai Food. There is a queue but we are lucky to get a seat immediately since we don't mind to be seated outside.
While waiting for food, our eyes browse around the interior - A quote on the wall next to the single Thai King Face Illustration caught my attention "Eat like a King, Love Food, Hate Waste". Another side of the wall, Thai posters including Thai King's faces were all over the wall. The neon-lit elephant in the center of the wall reminds me of night life in Thailand!
The waiter who seat us is friendly and attentive (compare to other staffs). After our meal, he ask us if there is anything we wish highlight or need improvement, also invite us to like their Facebook page. Later when I check out Thai Hou Sek Facebook page, this waiter apparently received a lot of good comments for his good service.
From the menu, you can tell the restaurant is selling Thai Chinese Porkilicious meals.
Babi-Q Pork Neck @ RM18.00
I choose this Thai-style grill pork neck, served with fresh cucumber slice, and a soya based sauce with chopped green onion, slice shallot & chili flakes. Simple yet taste nice. The garlic oil that sprinkle on top of the pork neck meats makes us feel like this is our homecook food. Ya, garlic oil is one of must have condiment in our home!
Seafood Tom Yam @ RM24.00
Husband's most favorite dish lately - Tom Yam soup with prawns, squids, fish fillet and oyster mushrooms. I'm not sure if I can use the word authentic to describe the taste, but the sour & spicy tom yam soup taste same like those Tom Yam soup that we used to had in Hatyai & Bangkok!
We order additional 2 Steamed Jasmine Rice too share the pork neck meat & Tom Yam soup.
Banana Fritters with Ice Cream @ RM13.00
We get our-self just 1 main dish and 1 soup so that we could keep some space in our stomach for dessert! The deep fried banana topped with whipped cream, shredded coconut & dried fruits, taken together with the vanilla ice cream, not too sweet not too heavy. Just nice to fill up the our quota for dinner!
We like the drinks too! Coconut Lychee & Asamboi Lemon Grass, RM10.00 each, also attached the receipt for our dining as reference.
"Happy 5th anniversary 여보! Thanks for earning money and buy me good meals always! I will continue to work hard to cook more nice food for you as what I always do. Love you unconditionally, always! 💏
