Tim Ho Wan (Malaysia) 1-Utama Shopping Centre | 添好運

Last weekend when we searching for what to eat for breakfast in 1-Utama, surprise to see there is no queue at Tim Ho Wan on a Sunday morning, so we finally give a try. Last year when Tim Ho Wan opened its second outlet in 1-Utama, whenever we passed-by this Michelin-starred Dim Sum Restaurant is always long queue. Thinking of coming back to try after few months later when the 'hit' is subside, however due to we rarely go to 1-Utama compare to last time, we totally forgotten about it.

Although no queue outside, the restaurant is still about half-full. We were seat immediately after walked in.

The menu on the table give us an impression that choices is pretty limited. Probably we are spoil by choice by those dim-sum restaurants we patronized. The menu comprises of their Signature 4 Heavenly Kings, vermicelli roll (4 items), steamed (7 items), deep fried (3 items), rice (3 items), congee (1 item), vegetable(1 item), desserts (1 item) and baverages (6 items).

We felt that the dim-sum is a bit 'over-priced' too. But given that the restaurant is located inside a famous shopping mall and it is a Michelin-star restaurant, I guess this price range consider affordable. For your info, Tim Ho Wan is known as Hong Kong’s World’s Cheapest Michelin Star Restaurant.

Beside the usual menu, they also have this Chef's Recommendation for the month of Jan / Feb 2016 ~ Jack-fruit Shirmp Dumplings, Bean-curd Wrap Chicken and Duo Skin Prawn Wonton Soup.

Our orders: We decided to go for the the signature Baked Bun with BBQ Pork, stir-fried hor fun and The Chef's recommendation of the month: Duo Shrimp Wonton Soup.

Duo Shrimp Wonton Soup @ RM16.80
The green wonton is a bit too artificial green for me when it is served. However, the taste is very good and the shrimp is fresh since the wonton is made fresh daily.

Baked Bun with BBQ Pork @ RM11.50
The bun outer layer is crusty yet fluffy inside. Look at the juicy and tender barbecued pork filling, so appetizing even before we put it into our mouth! I totally fell for this Baked Bun with BBQ Pork after first bite. Thumbs up!

Stir fried Hor Fun with Pork (RM15.80)
This dish is for hubby who like to eat 'keow-teow'. But regret to say it taste very normal (base on our preference). Husband find it a bit salty since he ate the most as he felt thirsty after the meal.

Since we never try the original outlet in Hong Kong so we can't comment if the the food here taste same as the original outlet. However the Baked Bun manage to make us 'wow'. I probably will come back again with my family next time for them to try the Baked Bun with BBQ Pork and other signature dish that yet try before.
