Maritime Suite, Karpal Singh Drive & Sunrise of New Lunar Year

Our family from Busan visit us in Malaysia. On Chinese New Year eve, we drove down Penang and stay for 2 days 1 night. We had reunion dinner with my family and celebrate the festive season in Penang. I rented a duplex apartment at Maritime Suites, Karpal Singh Drive thru Airbnb for 5 of us (my parents in law brother in law, me and husband). We love the apartment's high windows overlooking seafront with beautiful sunrise & sunset.

Photo taken after we just viewed the first sunrise at the first day of New Lunar Year, 2016.
"Sunrise" is one of the the reason why I chose this apartment. Watching sun rising above the horizon on New Year's day is one of the most popular ways to celebrate a brand new start in Korean culture. We have a unforgettable moment watching first lunar year's sunrise together for the first time. Share with you here the photos from dawn to sunrise on the 8 Feb 2016, first day of Chinese New Year, also "Seollal" in Korea .. and my birthday too.

The sun is coming up over the mountains at Mainland~  truly a spectacular sight to behold. It only takes about 10-15 minutes until the sun is fully rise. I did not forget to make a wish, pray for good health and wealth and happiness for everyone including myself.

Knowing that most eateries and shops will close for business on Chinese New Year day 1, therefore we had bought some pastry and drinks at Starbucks & 7-Eleven downstairs the apartment the night before. So we could relax and enjoy our breakfast with seaview from Maritime Suites.

Last photo with the view before check-out. Everyone say I make a good choice - spacious living space for 5 of us, awesome seaview, just 2km away from city centre / UNESCO Heritage Site and Penang first bridge. The suites has swimming pool and gym in the building, also amenities such as Automall, 7-Eleven, Starbucks, cafes, restaurants, etc just downstairs the apartment. And the seafront walk - Karpal Singh Drive where we can see Penang Bridge.

About the Apartment

The duplex apartment name Safari Seafront Suite has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Bedroom upstairs has 2 queen size bed and attached bathroom. While bedroom downstairs has 1 queen size bed, bathroom is not attached but just next to the bedroom. Both rooms are cozy, comfort and clean. Bathroom size is small yet complete with seperate shower area with glass door, WC and basin. Hot shower, shampoo, body shower, toilet paper available except towel is not provided.

Spacious living room, dining table is next to the high windows with awesome seaview. Kitchen is next to the entrance, equipped with basic necessity e.g. refrigerator, microwave, tableware, dish-washing liquid & sponge etc. We found some fresh curry stains inside the microwave the next day morning when we reheat pastry for breakfast, probably overlook by the cleaner during cleaning session. Overall cleanliness is satisfactory.

Everything inside the apartment is exactly same as what is shown in Airbnb website. Well maintain and worth for the price I pay for. I even have a discount of RM80 for my first booking (a credit given for first booking upon referred by my sister). The owner Eve is friendly and very responsive to our inquiry. We did not met the owner personally, everything is through messaging. Easy and smooth check-in & check-out process. Great experience and we would love to rent from her again in future.
