The Mines Shopping Mall & Sakae Sushi, The Mines

My one and only time visit to The Mines was 18 years ago. Ya, that old! 18 years later, I decided to bring husband take a look at this shopping mall that has a canal that runs right into the complex. The Mines located in Seri Kembangan - about 30 minutes drive away from our house in Kuala Lumpur.

There are water taxis that provide daily cruise services to customers to The Mines from Serdang KTM Station (fee applicable). The Water Taxi is available from 9am to 9pm. We drove here, pay toll fee RM2 and Parking is RM2 too for being here 2 hours ++.

Besides The Mines Shopping Mall, there used to be a Mines Wonderland -a musical theme park and even snowland but all these attractions has closed for operation. However, visitor still be able to enjoy the cruise on the 150 acres former tin mining lake named the North Lake and the South Lake. Which is what we are here today - for the cruise!

We stand on top of the bridge that link through both side of the canal inside the shopping mall, watching the boat that cruise in and out on the canal. Along the canals are restaurants where you can enjoy your meal while relax next to the canal.

The canals that flow through the shopping mall and connects to the lakes.

From one of the window of the shopping mall we can see partly of the lakeside where the cruise would tour around.

Mine Cruise
The Mine Cruise ticket counter is located at the Ground floor next to the Canal.  They have sightseeing cruise, Wawa Splash Tour, Cruise N'Dine, Sunset Dining Cruise and one can also charter the boat for personal event. We were here for the sightseeing cruise, Standard ticket fee for adult is RM48 (MyKad RM38), Child RM37 (MyKard RM29).

Unfortunately one side of the lake is temporarily closed - since there is no discount of the cruise ticket. We decided to come back again for the cruise next time. You can visit their official website for more info.

Lunch @ Sakae Sushi, The Mines

Not sure what to eat after browsing around the mall, we decided to go for a safe choice - Sakae Sushi, which we used to dine-in countless time in the past in Penang. We had Tenzaru Soba (Tempura + Soba) - 2 sets since we both like the same food.

The cha-soba! Never get bored with soba even we just have it not long ago.

Same goes to tempura! haha.. The one we like the most is the prawn tempura!

We also share Saba-shioyaki - grilled saba fish in sweet soya sauce. Today the Saba grill was perfectly grilled and we both enjoy this alot.
