:: Share with you guys pictures of beautiful autumn in Gochang, Jeollabuk-do, Korea which my MIL shared with me ::

Seonunsan | 선운산
My Omoenim (mother in law) sent me pictures of beautiful autumn scenery in Korea after she went for a 3 days 2 nights trip at Seonunsan (Mt. Seonum), Gochang, Jeollabuk-do. Korean called this kind of trip as 단풍놀이 (Dan-ping nol-i) meaning viewing maple-tree / autumn foliage, enjoy the autumn's wind & breeze of the nature. Gochang is about 3 hours driving distance from Seoul.  Seo-nun-san original name was Mt. Dosol, it changed to Seounsan after Seo-nun-sa (the temple) became famous.

Seonunsan is a popular destination throughout all four seasons. Visitors can enjoy camellias, cherry blossoms, cool valleys, thick woods, colorful foliage, and rocky cliffs here while slowly walk up to the peak of Seonunsan. The path is gentle and one can easily walk up to the peak slowly and easy. The fall season offers a mesmerising view of crimson leaves and the 1,500-year old Seonunsa Temple. [Info from]

Seonunsa | 선운사
Seonunsa was built during the Baekje Dynasty (18 BC-678 AD). The temple is famous for its camellia flowers where you can find around the low hill behind the Daeungbojeon Pavilion. Every year, many tourists come to visit the temple to enjoy the valued cultural heritage and the beautiful natural surroundings of the temple. More info, visit their Official Website:

Yongmungol | 용문골
One of popular destination that visitor must not miss while hike up to Seonunsan is Yongmungol (Yongmun Cave). This is where Dae Jang Guem's mother was buried (in the drama Dae Jang Guem "Jewel of the Palace"). It is also one of the passage visitor need to go through in order to get to Dosoram - another must see site in Seonunsan.

A beautiful flower farm nearby. In Gochang, Different flowers blossom throughout Spring till Autumn which give such colourful view as above. I am grateful to have such a lovely mother in law who always share with me all these beautiful pictures via kakao-talk.
